Summary

Between January and June 1995 crews from the Public Service Archaeology Program, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, the University of South Carolina, conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of 7,500 acres at Poinsett Weapons Range, Sumter County, South Carolina for the United States Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories. The investigations were designed to produce a complete inventory of archaeological resources located at the weapons range and to provide recommendations for the National Register of Historic Places status of all sites located.
