Archaeological Field Reconnaissance Brookville Reservoir Waterfowl Marsh 1980

Summary

Under the direction of Dr. Ronald Hicks, the Archaeological Resources Management Service of Ball State University performed an archaeological reconnaissance in preparation to create two proposed waterfowl marshes. One of the marshes was to be a two-acre marsh, constructed just south of the Union County line in Franklin County. The other waterfowl marsh was to be constructed in Union County along the valley of Elly’s Creek and would inundate some 45 acres of former farmland. The reconnaissance was carried out on November 26, 29, and 30, 1980 (Beard 1980).
