Investigation at Stoney River Dam 1961
Summary
This collection is referred to as “Investigation at Stoney River Dam 1961.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is a quarter (0.25) of a linear inch.
The documents date from March to April 1961 and include a progress report, a memorandum, a note, and newspaper articles. The documents were originally housed in an acidic folder, within an acid-free box, and were in good condition. The original folder was labeled “Stony River Reservoir: VEPCO.” Although the term “VEPCO” presumably stands for the Virginia Electric and Power Company, only “VEPCO” was used throughout the database and finding aid, as the full company name was never used in the documents.
Any wrinkles or creases in the documents were flattened using a bone tool. One of the newspaper articles was originally torn from the newspaper and acid-free mending tissue tape was applied to the edges of the document to prevent further damage.
The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the finding aid and scanned asset key. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include the archives database, activity log, document folder listing, initial data collection, memorandum, newspaper articles, and notes. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
