Highway 72 and County Road Relocation 1979

Summary

This collection is referred to as "Highway 72 and County Road Relocation 1979.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is one (1) linear inch.

The documents date from 1976 to 1982. The majority of the documents in the collection range from 1976-1979, but the field notebook contains information on additional investigations from the Richard B. Russell Multiple Resource Area that occurred from 1979 to 1982. The documents were originally contained in a single, unsealed manila folder entitled “Highway 72 and County Road Relocation 1979” and the envelope was housed in an acidic cardboard box with other collections from the Richard B. Russell Multiple Resource Area. The materials were originally organized in a discernible order that was generally retained. The documents were in good condition. No final report from the investigation was present with the collection. Metal contaminants were removed from the field notebook during processing.

The collection also contained four oversized maps of borrow areas from the investigation area that required flattening and smoothing. The documents were placed in the oversized storage.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the finding aid, oversized material spreadsheet, and scanned asset key. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include the archives database, budget form, conversation record, correspondence, document folder listing, initial data collection, maps, notes, oversized labels, and records removal sheet. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
