Road Relocations in Abbeville and Anderson Counties 1978-1979

Summary

This collection is referred to as “Road Relocation in Abbeville and Anderson Counties 1978-1979.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is one and a half (1.5) linear inches.

The documents date from 1978 to 1979. The documents were originally housed in one acidic folder in an acidic cardboard box along with numerous collections from the Richard B. Russell Multiple Resource Area. The documents were originally lacking a discernible order. Personal information was removed from Folder 6/2. The documents were in good condition, although various metal contaminants were found throughout the collection, and these were removed. Various documents required smoothing. One document was encapsulated in Mylar, as the document contained small pieces of paper that could easily be lost during handling.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the finding aid, original investigation report, and the scanned asset key. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include the archives database, disposition form, document folder listing, initial data collection, management summary, memorandum of call, notes, project document, scope of work, and a transmittal slip. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
