Savannah River Floodplains 1980
Summary
This collection is referred to as "Savannah River Floodplains 1980.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is one and three quarter (1.75) linear inches.
The documents date from 1979 to 1980. The investigation occurred in 1979, but the draft of the final report was written in 1980, which may explain the date of the project name. The documents were originally housed in acidic file folders in a cardboard box with other collections from the Richard B. Russell Multiple Resource Area. The collection was originally lacking a discernible order. The documents were in good condition, though a few documents contained metal contaminants and tears. The contaminants were removed and the tears were mended with acid-free tissue mending tape.
The collection contained an oversized map from the investigation area that required flattening and smoothing. The document was placed in the oversized storage.
The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the finding aid, original investigation report, oversized materials spreadsheet, and scanned asset key. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include the archives database, conversation record, correspondence, document folder listing, initial data collection, inventory form, a map, notes, oversized labels, progress reports, records removal sheet, summary reports, and a transmittal slip. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
