Confiscated Shoreline Collection from Strom Thurmond Lake 2001

Summary

This collection is not associated with any formal archaeological investigation on the Strom Thurmond Lake property. There were no associated records for this collection, as this artifact collection was not recovered during a USACE archaeological investigation. There was no contractor or investigator associated with this collection. The only known provenience for these artifacts was Strom Thurmond Lake Shoreline, presumably where the artifacts were collected, and an ambiguous date (10/01). This information was provided on the original box that was transferred to the VCP in 2010. It was not clear if the date, which was assigned to the collection title, is the date that the artifacts were collected, the date they were confiscated, or the date that the collection was received by USACE personnel.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include the artifact catalog, artifact report, and select artifact photographs. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include additional artifact photographs. For additional information on these materials, refer to the Finding Aid.
