ROI128, Central Ohio Archaeological Digitization Survey (COADS)

Summary

This is the tDAR Project page that represents Reports of Investigation 128 from the Applied Anthropology Laboratories, Ball State University.

This project examines distributional and technological changes that accompany the rise of agriculture while creating the largest digital archive of georeferenced private collections from the Central Ohio region. This project exploits collections' potential to expand the scope of data acquisition and fill in the gaps between the patches of existing documentary records. This project utilizes two types of problem-oriented research.

1) Using distributional data to test the official narrative

2) Exploring the nature of technological change concomitant with the changes reconstructed in the official narrative

Finally, this project collaborates with the local community to inform compliance survey and development planning by documentation and preservation of the composite body of knowledge housed in private collections.
