Archaeological Excavations at Site 18DO82 and Find Spot X21-X30, U.S. Naval Reservation, Bloodsworth Island (1992.080)

Summary

This project represents archaeological research at Bloodsworth Island, Dorchester County, Maryland. Site 18DO82, the c. 1840-1880 home of waterman William Parks, was one focus of the study. Additionally, sites 18DO107 and 18DO 108 were identified, and artifacts along the shore (find spots 18DOX21-18DOX30) were investigated as possible sites, but were instead found to be deposits resulting from wave action rather than habitation. Artifacts and associated records from the project are curated at the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory on behalf of the Navy.
