XUMU-11-1046B4 D1 Powerline

Summary

This is the tDAR Project for the D1 Powerline Replacement Project on Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB). The D1 powerline is an approximately 13 mile long powerline that crosses a substantial extent of the North Base portion of the installation. The project required an archaeological survey of a corridor running along either side of the centerline of the line. All archaeological sites within the corridor were assessed for their eligibility to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All sites determined eligible or that were assumed eligible for this project only, were subject to additional assessment of effects testing. The design and route of the new powerline changed several times to minimize impacts to various archaeological resources. Ultmiately a totla of 5 archaeological sites were subject to a Memorandum of Agreement that prescribed excavation as mitigation for the adverse effects related to the project. This Project stores all pertinent data and documents related to the D1 project.
