Andrew Zipkin

Andrew Zipkin is an archaeological scientist with research interests including the Middle and Later Stone Age of Central and East Africa, archaeometry method development, provenance studies for social network reconstruction, the origins of symbolic behavior, and experimental archaeology. He completed his doctoral dissertation at The George Washington University, advised by Prof. Alison Brooks. Andrew does field work in Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, and Zambia and collaborates with laboratories at the University of Missouri Research Reactor, Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Arizona State University.
