Beloit Archaeological Survey
Beloit College conducted an archaeological survey of selected tracts with the City of Beloit, Wisconsin, with the support of a matching grant from the Wisconsin Historical Society's Certified Local Government program to the City of Beloit.
The Beloit Archaeological Survey: Report of the 2004 Field Season (2005)
Investigations at 49 separate field locations in the City of Beloit recovered evidence of 29 archaeological sites (26 pre-contact and three historic). Of the 29 sites, 15 had been previously reported, 11 were newly identified, and three were documented on the basis of collections that had not been previously catalogued or analyzed. Site types identified include mounds as well as habitation sites. Diagnostic material includes Archaic, Woodland, and Historic artifacts.

Bennett's Point (18QU28)
The Bennett’s Point (18QU28) site represents the principal dwelling at a colonial period tobacco plantation located in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. The home of Elizabeth and Richard Bennett III between 1700 and 1749, Bennett’s Point was also a major port. Bennett was a lawyer, planter, merchant and one of the wealthiest men in the colony.
