However, the archeological work was designed to investigate the whole site. Archeological field work included mapping, intensive controlled surface collection, and subsurface testing. Over 26,000 artifacts were...

STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN ANALYSIS AND MACROPHYSICAL CLIMATE MODELING FOR SITE 33AD56, AND POLLEN ANALYSIS OF FEATURES FROM SITES 33AD121 AND 33AD124, OHIO (2010)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings.

Stratigraphic pollen analysis and macrophysical modeling were undertaken for site 33AD56 to provide a record of potential climate and actual vegetation during the Early, Middle, and Late Archaic time periods represented. In addition, single pollen samples were examined from occupational contexts at 33AD121 and 33AD124 in an effort to find evidence of food processing.

STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN ANALYSIS AT 24RBl164, SOUTHEASTERN MONTANA (1989)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings. PaleoResearch Institute.

Pollen samples were collected from a stratigraphic column at 24RB1164 in the Pine Breaks region of southeastern Montana to provide data for paleoenvironmental reconstruction. Two distinct cultural levels were noted representing the Late Archaic and McKean complex. A radiocarbon age of 2570 BP is associated with the Late Archaic occupation, while an age of 3310 ± 90 BP is associated with the McKean occupation.

STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN ANALYSIS AT 32DU179 AND 32GF123, NORTH DAKOTA (1990)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings.

Pollen samples were analyzed from two sites in Dunn and Grand Forks County, North Dakota, to identify paleoenvironmental conditions. Site 32DU179, located a few miles north of the Little Missouri River in the southwest corner of the Fort Berthold Reservation, was sampled stratigraphically for pollen. The soil strata were relatively thin at this site, so a single pollen sample was collected from each stratum. The stratigraphic record is incomplete, however, as the contacts between...

STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN ANALYSIS AT THE KING SITE (24PH2886), MONTANA (1992)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda Scott Cummings.

The King site (24PH2886) is located in the Little Rocky Mountains of north-central Montana. This site contains Pelican Lake components that have been consistently dated elsewhere between 2000 and 3500 BP. In addition, McKean Complex materials are noted that may be assigned to 3500 to 5000 BP. The upper cultural component is the Mortlach Composite, which commonly dates around AD 1600 to AD 1720. Pollen analysis was undertaken on two stratigraphic columns to provide information to identify past...

STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN ANALYSIS OF SEDIMENTS FROM RECON JOHN SHELTER, SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO (1987)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Linda J. Scott. PaleoResearch Institute.

Eight stratigraphic pollen samples were collected from Recon John Shelter (5PE648), located along the bank of Turkey Creek a tributary to the Arkansas river. A late Archaic/Woodland occupation postulated at this cave, where the cultural deposits are deep. Ceramics were recovered from the upper levels, while projectile points were recovered throughout the deposits. Pollen analysis was conducted on the samples in an effort to address both paleoenvironmental conditions and evidence of...
