MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT SITE 48FR4713, CENTRAL WYOMING (2002)
Fill from a small hearth at 48FR4713 in central Wyoming was floated to recover macrofloral remains. This feature yielded a conventional radiocarbon age of 1250 ± 70 BP, indicating a Late Prehistoric occupation. Macrofloral analysis is used to provide information concerning plant resources processed in this hearth.
MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF HEARTH FILL AT SITE 48NA2353, CENTRAL WYOMING (1995)
The fill of a basin-shaped hearth (Feature 8) at Site 48NA2353 was floated to recover charred macrofloral remains. This site is believed to be a prehistoric campsite and consists of hearths, a stone circle, metate fragments, a mano, lithic artifacts, lithic debitage, and oxidized sandstone. Macrofloral analysis of the hearth fill is used to provide information concerning plant resources utilized at the site.
MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF HEARTH FILL FROM WELL PAD SITES FOR THE IRON HORSE DEVELOPMENT, WIND RIVER BASIN, WYOMING (2009)
Samples from four hearths were examined for macrofloral remains. These hearths were discovered at well pad sites as part of the Iron Horse development for Noble Energy and are located approximately 25 miles east of Shoshone in the Wind River Basin of central Wyoming. Macrofloral analysis will be used to provide information concerning plant resources processed in these hearths and types of wood burned as fuel.
POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT 48NA182, WYOMING (2003)
The fill from five cultural features at site 48NA182 were examined for pollen and/or macrofloral remains. This site is a multi-occupation rockshelter and open camp located on Naval Petroleum Reserve # 3 in central Wyoming. Five macrofloral and three pollen samples were analyzed to determine paleo-environmental conditions and potential economic uses of plants at the site.
