EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL SAMPLES PRIOR TO RADIOCARBON ANALYSIS FROM ALONG THE NORTH PLATTE RIVER, WYOMING
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2004
Summary
A total of three bulk soil samples from along the North Platte River in central Wyoming were
floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. These samples were
recovered from a single soil pit on a late Holocene River terrace, downstream of Pathfinder Dam.
Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable
material was separated.
