Twelve pollen samples were selected for analysis from several areas within 42Ka1969, a two component site located in south central Utah. All of the pollen samples were taken from the later component, which was radiocarbon dated to A.D. 980 and A.D. 1150 (both dates MASCA corrected). Five samples were selected for analysis from the pithouse: two from the floor to the northwest and to the southeast of the hearth (15-7 and 15-9), and three from cists (15-11, 15-12, and 15-14).
