Despite the central role of the Firehole Basin site in the conception of the Firehole phase in the Wyoming Basin, the lithic assemblage has never been reported. Excavated in 1976 and 1977, the site yielded chipped and ground stone, pottery, abundant faunal remains dominated by pronghorn, and two radiocarbon dates (625 ± 50 and 645 ± 45 RCYBP). X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy was used to study obsidian artifacts collected from the Trappers Point Site, a multicomponent Early Archaic pronghorn processing site, located west of Pinedale, Wyoming in Sublette County. A recent discovery of Archaic period pecked petroglyphs at the Gateway site (48LN348) is the first occurrence of Uncompahgre style imagery in the northern Green River Basin. The Phalanx Pho Site (48SU7506) is located on a large upland bench overlooking the New Fork River in the upper Green River Basin. Site discoveries included 22 scattered features, three semi-circular-shaped feature clusters, and three large charcoal-stained sandy areas. Radiocarbon dates ranged from 5720 ± 30 to 4110 ± 30 BP. The Sevenmile Gulch site is located in southwestern Wyoming within the Green River Basin. The site is situated 18 miles west of the Green River and 1.3 miles north of the Blacks Fork River. Site 48SU2800, located in the northern portion of the Green River Basin, yielded evidence of an Archaic occupation. Radiocarbon dates of 3050 ± 40 BP and 3990 ± 40 BP are reported for two of the features. Four basin hearth features were examined to recover pollen and starches that would provide information concerning plants processed by occupants of this site.
