MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT THE PLAIN VIEW SITE, 42WS1809, SOUTHWEST UTAH (2006)
Samples from a shallow living surface and a storage cist at the Plain View Site, 42Ws1809, were analyzed for macrofloral remains. This site represents a late Pueblo I period site in Washington County, southwest Utah, based on ceramic and radiocarbon dating. The site appears to have experienced at least two occupation episodes. Macrofloral analysis is used to provide subsistence information concerning plant resources utilized by the site occupants.
MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF FILL FROM A THERMAL FEATURE AT SITE 42IN853 IN THE CROSS HOLLOW HILLS PROJECT AREA, SOUTHWEST UTAH (2006)
A single macrofloral sample was recovered from a thermal feature at site 42In853 in the Cross Hollow Hills Project Area, southwest Utah. This site consists of an artifact scatter and the buried thermal feature. It has been postulated that the site was used for biface reduction. POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT THE SHINOBCOB SITE, 42WS4335, SOUTHWEST UTAH (2004)
Single samples were submitted for pollen and macrofloral analysis from site 42WS4335, representing a probable Pueblo II Anasazi occupation in southwest Utah. These samples represent fill from a small hearth in an exterior work area and were examined to provide information about plants that might have been processed in or near the hearth.

Pollen, macrofloral, botanic, and protein residue samples were examined from site 42WS2227 in southwest Utah, representing a large, intensively looted Anasazi Pueblo with an estimated Pueblo II occupation. Three combined pollen and macrofloral samples were submitted for analysis from sites 42WS4228 and 42WS4230 in Cave Valley, southwest Utah. Site 42WS4228 consists of a sparse lithic and ground stone scatter with ash stains and fire-cracked rock. No ceramics or diagnostic artifacts were recovered. Samples from four sites in the Coral Canyon II archaeological project in southwest Utah were examined for pollen and/or macrofloral remains. These sites represent Middle Archaic Late Archaic, and Southern Paiute occupations of the area.
