This resource contains a report on an inventory conducted at the Badlands National Park Service Headquarters on July 23rd, 1987. It included four areas in the housing area of the headquarters where new housing may be placed in the future. In reality, the inventory was of the general housing area, as it documents the disturbance that occurred with construction of the Mission 66 housing.

Preliminary geoarcheological investigations were conducted in Badlands National Park, South Dakota, in August of 1997. The purpose of the research was to establish an initial stratigraphic and geomorphic context for archeological materials within the park. This was accomplished by large-scale surface reconnaissance and intensive data collection at a number of representative study sections.
