Earthen Buildings Identified near Celano (AQ), Abruzzo (2017)
This report provides detailed descriptions of standing, earthen buildings examined in Abruzzo and Calabria, Italy, between 1979 and 2015. The structures date from the late 19th to the mid-20th centuries and include former dwellings and small barns. Documentation of these earthen buildings is significant, because they represent examples of a rapidly disappearing cultural resource in Italy. Regional literature reviews and field interviews supplement the study. Finally, there are comparisons of...
Neutron Activation Analysis of Ceramics from Italy
This project pertains to the compositional analysis of ceramic materials from Italy. These data were generated by neutron activation analysis (NAA) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) between the late 1960s and early 1990s. Data from the LBNL were transferred to the Archaeometry Laboratory at the University of Missouri, where they were digitized for distribution through tDAR.

I purposefully chose these three sites because they range in date, vessel type, are the most ambiguous about whether the vessels are indeed sound pottery and lack of research in order to contribute to the scholarly record. The Theater of Nora (Sardinia), Theater of Nemi (Nemi in mainland Italy), and the Circus of Maxentius (outside the city of Rome) are the three sites...
