Pollen and macrofloral analyses were undertaken on samples from several prehistoric sites on the North lease area of the McKinley Mine for the purpose of assessing the subsistence base of the inhabitants of these sites. In the case of site NL86 pollen and macrofloral samples were taken from stratigraphic columns and from the trash midden (Feature 6).
