A total of nine bulk soil/detrital charcoal samples from along the Uncompahgre River near Ridgway, Colorado, were floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. These samples were recovered from a sequence of four to five terraces above the river. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
