On September 11, 1995, construction of the parking lot at Tubac Presidio State Historic Park began west of the schoolhouse. The project area is located in the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 7, Township 21 South, Range 13 East. The Presido has been assigned site # AZ DD:8:33 ASM and the schoolhouse AZ DD:8:10 ASM.
