Unburned sediment containing wood charcoal was noted as a spoil pile resulting from chert mining at the Three Waters Quarries, Site 24VW559, on the Missouri River in Montana. The mine represents Pelican Lake Complex utilization during the Late Middle Prehistoric Period. Pollen and macrofloral analyses were conducted on the sediment to identify the types of plants growing in the area and those that were burned. Charcoal removed from this sample also will be radiocarbon dated.

Samples from site 283-3, part of the Dos Griegos Project, were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. The site included Developmental to Mid-Classic occupations, AD 400-1350. A surface pollen sample was examined to provide modern control for the pollen samples collected from the features. Pollen and flotation samples were taken from several pit features and from two test pits to identify subsistence activities at this site.

Site LA 158037, located in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico is comprised of seven selfcontained vault privies from the 20th century (ca 1910 to 1935), which held Hispanic and Anglo waste. A total of seven coprolite samples, one from each of the seven self-contained vault privy features, were submitted for pollen and parasite analysis. The goal of the analysis was to identify foods consumed by and parasites resident in the population that used these privies.

The Mattei Site (38BU1765) is a Late Archaic site situated on an elevated marine sand deposit in an upland area of the Atlantic coastal strand near the May River in Beaufort County, South Carolina (Daniel Elliot, personal communication, November 12, 2019).
