The 48th Air Rescue Squadron, Holloman Air Force Base (HAFB), is planning to conduct helicopter training on White Sands Missile Range. Project activities will consist of transition flying to include day/night take offs and landings, hoist and sling load pick ups, alternate insertion and extraction techniques, emergency procedures, and static line and free fall parachute training.

From October 13, 2004 to October 22, 2004, Gulf South Research Corporation (GSRC) conducted an archival search and pedestrian reconnaissance survey of approximately 300 acres on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). This report describes the methods and results of the survey conducted to identify the presence of cultural resources that could be affected by the proposed improvements and modernizations to the Radar Cross-Section Advanced Measurement Site (RAMS) on WSMR.

Red Rio II: An Archaeological Survey of 2,280 acres Near Chupadera Mesa, White Sands Missile Range, Socorro County, New Mexico (1986)
The survey was required by Holloman Air Force Base in order to use a portion of the survey area as a bombing and strafing range. Prior to 1985 the area had been utilized as a target range for at least 20 years. This report describes the cultural resources found, summarized the research conducted, and makes recommendations for the future protection of the archaeological resources.
