Historic Block 94 was a scene of controversy in the late 1980s as the City of Tucson planned the demolition of the historic Catalina Hotel. The U.S. Air Force contracted the US Forest Service (USFS) TEAMS Enterprise Unit to complete Phase II evaluations of 15 archaeological sites in the Dix area of JB MDL, New Hanover and Pemberton Townships and Wrightstown Borough, Burlington County and Plumsted and Manchester Townships, Ocean County.
