Many of the archaeological ceramics found in the Power's Gulch area in the course of investigations for the Carlota Testing Project were found to be tempered with sand size material. Tijeras Pueblo (LA 581) is a Late Precontact, or Pueblo IV period (1275-1400), archaeological site located within the modern village of Tijeras, situated in Tijeras Canyon.
