A single fire pit in Dinosaur National Monument was excavated and 8.9 liters of fill floated for macrofloral analysis. This hearth yielded a radiocarbon age of 3500 ± 70 BP. Macrofloral analysis was conducted to determine whether the hearth contained any information concerning vegetal food processing.

Two macrofloral samples were collected from a single hearth in Dinosaur National Monument. This site is located in a rockshelter, and appears to represent a single occupation of Fremont people. A radiocarbon age of 1410 ± 80 BP was returned for this hearth. Analysis of macrofloral remains was aimed at identifying any subsistence activities associated with this hearth.
