Kuwili Fishpond (50-80-14-5368) is located under a large empty lot near the present day Honolulu Harbor. This fishpond, which might have been constructed as early as AD 1100, was used until at least the late 19th century. Eighteen pollen samples were collected from three trenches at Waiakula Fishpond on the south shore of O'ahu, Hawai'i. This possible fishpond ·was defined by coral-based walls and probably was used in the AD 1400-1600s. The pollen record is a compilation of samples collected from several trenches in an effort to examine a stratigraphic sequence representing accumulation over time.
