At the request of Salt River Project, an evaluation of Realignments 1 and 2 of the proposed D-2 alignment of the Coronado Generating Station Coal Haul Railroad has been prepared. Archaeological investigations of both realignments were conducted on two occasions. On April 13, 1976, an aerial reconnaissance of the realignments was conducted and on May 3-7, 1976, the proposed locations of 24 bore holes and 19 test pits, located along the realignment were surveyed.
