Antelope Hill (AZ X:8:7 [ASM]) is a well-known archaeological site in the lower Gila River valley. This book was written to show the physical route and approximate station locations of the Butterfield Overland Company from 1858 to 1861 in Arizona. My interest in trying to follow the old trail, and finding much scattered information to guide me in locating the original sites of the stations, led to the idea of putting this information together in a book that would be easy for others to follow, and perhaps give the reader an armchair trip over the Butterfield Overland Trail in Arizona.
