Stratigraphic sediment samples were collected at Ais Giorkis for phytolith analysis. The uppermost sample serves as a modern analog, and radiocarbon ages indicate the profile is intact (Rolfe Mandel, personal communication, January 5, 2018). Phytolith analysis was requested because isotope values show a C3 signature with little variation through time (Rolfe Mandel, personal communication, January 5, 2018).
