On September 21, 1993, archaeologists from SWCA, Inc., Environmental Consultants of Tucson, Arizona, conducted an intensive archaeological survey of approximately 160 acres for a proposed prison expansion. The purpose of these investigations is to locate and describe all cultural resources within the parcel that might be adversely affected by construction of the proposed Special Management Unit prison facility.
