From December 2 to December 13, 1985 the Institute for American Research conducted archaeological testing for the Tucson Water Department, City of Tucson. Test excavations were conducted at three archaeological sites in the El Rio vicinity. These sites are identified as AZ AA:12:90/AZ AA:12:104, AZ AA:12:487, AZ AA:12:488 as indicated by the Arizona State Museum, University of Arizona site numbering system.
