A survey of the Newport Army Ammunition Plant, utilizing a 10.8 percent stratified sample, revealed 144 sites for the plant property and predicted between 1200 and 1500 others. Of the 144 sites found, only ten appeared to have any potential for meeting National Register criteria for significance.
