On May 24, 1993, I met with Sergeant Swanson, construction manager for the trenching to be done in the parking lot behind Building #208. The trenching is in the area of site 48LA71L, the remains of two enlisted men's barracks built in 1885 which burned in the early 1920s. A trench 24 inches wide was to be dug across the parking lot, through the site area. Sgt Swanson was to notify me when trenching began. During April and May 1998, Rick Bryant monitored excavations for installation of new water sprinkler and communication lines along Randall and Old Glory Avenues, and the north side of the Officers housing access road, at F.E.
