Summary

On May 24, 1993, I met with Sergeant Swanson, construction manager for the trenching to be done in the parking lot behind Building #208. The trenching is in the area of site 48LA71L, the remains of two enlisted men's barracks built in 1885 which burned in the early 1920s. A trench 24 inches wide was to be dug across the parking lot, through the site area. Sgt Swanson was to notify me when trenching began.

The artifacts from the trench were collected and are curated at the FE Warren Curation Facility. After the artifacts were collected, the pipe was laid in the trench and the trench was backfilled. No further disturbance of the in situ cultural material is planned at this time.
