Research at site 48LA277 was completed in 1991 as part of an interpretive program at F.E. Warren Air Force Base to provide data to interpret prehistoric cultural resources on the base. On May 24, 1993, I met with Sergeant Swanson, construction manager for the trenching to be done in the parking lot behind Building #208. The trenching is in the area of site 48LA71L, the remains of two enlisted men's barracks built in 1885 which burned in the early 1920s. A trench 24 inches wide was to be dug across the parking lot, through the site area. Sgt Swanson was to notify me when trenching began. On 30 May 1985, during construction of an underground communications line, the construction contractor encountered the remains of a buried foundation (48LA71GG). After inspection by the base archaeologist, the foundation was determined to be that of building T541 associated with the hospital section of the WWII era Quartermaster Replacement Center. The site is considered to be not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and no further work is recommended.

On April 9, 1985, a pedestrian cultural resource inventory was conducted for the proposed construction of a CE Golf Course Facility located in Section 23, Tl4N, R67W. The total area surveyed was approximately 25 acres. The project area has been extensively disturbed by heavy equipment activity and the construction of the existing facilities. The new construction will be within the disturbed area and will not disturb the known historic sites nearby.

On April 22, 1985, a pedestrian cultural resource survey was conducted for the proposed replacement of the 6th Street Bridge which crosses Crow Creek in Section 26, T14N, R67W. Total area surveyed is approximately 1 acre. The project area has suffered extensive disturbance from previous construction.
