Summary

Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc., was contracted by AMEC Environmental and Infrastructure, Inc., to conduct a cultural resource inventory of a proposed land transfer between F. E. Warren Air Force Base and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Laramie County, Wyoming. File and record searches were conducted at F.E. Warren Air Force Base and with the Wyoming Cultural Records Office. The inventory included a Class Ill block inventory of 75.27 acres located on F. E. Warren Air Force Base between Old Happy Jack Road and New Happy Jack Road on the west side of the city of Cheyenne. No new cultural resources were encountered by this inventory. No evidence could be found inside the project area of Site 48LA106, the Cheyenne Depot, or Site 48LA541, a historic alignment of Happy Jack Road. Since archival records suggest these sites were within the project area, the site forms were updated to document the negative results. Site 48LA505 , a lithic scatter rumored to have been destroyed by the new Happy Jack Road, was determined to be outside of the project area based on the mapped location on the site form. No further work is recommended.
