Summary

This report presents the results of a resource inventory conducted at F.E. Warren Air Force Base (AFB), Cheyenne, Wyoming. The inventory was performed under Contract F04704-83-C-0008 between URS-Berger and the Department of the Air Force (AFRCE-BMS). The purpose of this inventory was to locate archaeological and paleontological resources that may be affected by proposed Peacekeeper facilities siting at F.E. Warren AFB and to provide data for the preparation of Draft Environmental Impact statement (DEIS) and Environmental Planning Technical Report (EPTR) documents for the Peacekeeper in Minuteman Silos (PIMS) project. On-base field work was conducted by a seven-person team from 20 June to 6 July 1983. The crew recorded 11 archaeological 1 sites, of which 7 are prehistoric and 4 are historic in age. In addition, 8 isolated prehistoric and 4 isolated historic artifacts were identified within the preposed facilities siting areas. No evidence of paleontological resources was located during on-base field studies.
