In 2007, personnel conducting a census of the Florida Scrub Jay population at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) reported finding prehistoric ceramics at the tip of the base within an unpaved road. A check of the databases confirmed this was an unrecorded site and a preliminary surface survey was conducted.
