A Cultural Resources Assessment Survey of Land Management Unit 84, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Brevard County, Florida

Author(s): Thomas Penders

Year: 2010

Summary

In 2007, personnel conducting a census of the Florida Scrub Jay population at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) reported finding prehistoric ceramics at the tip of the base within an unpaved road. A check of the databases confirmed this was an unrecorded site and a preliminary surface survey was conducted. The 45 SW CRM returned to the location in 2008 to conduct a formal Phase 1 archaeological survey. The purpose of the cultural resource survey was to identify the archaeological site and boundaries of the site.
