Mariah Associates, Inc. completed a Class Ill cultural resource inventory of the sanitary landfill on Kirtland Air Force Base, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. The project encompassed a 67 acre area within the existing landfill boundary. Sanitary refuse from the Base will be deposited and covered with clean fill. Survey took place on June 4, 1993 by John A. Site LA 72048 comprises a U-shaped mound that partially surrounds a depression, stains, a rock alignment, and an extensive midden deposit. It lies on a bench southeast of Tijeras Arroyo in Bernalillo County, New Mexico (Douglas H. M. Boggess, personal communication August 11, 2016).
