Summary

Mariah Associates, Inc. completed a Class Ill cultural resource inventory of the sanitary landfill on Kirtland Air Force Base, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. The project encompassed a 67 acre area within the existing landfill boundary. Sanitary refuse from the Base will be deposited and covered with clean fill. Survey took place on June 4, 1993 by John A. Evaskovich and Wendy Jones Poague of Mariah Associates, Inc. One isolated occurrence was recorded during the survey. The isolated occurrence was an historic fence line composed of axe cut juniper branches strung with three courses of barbed wire. The data potential of the isolated occurrence is considered to have been completely recorded during survey, and cultural resource clearance for the proposed undertaking is recommended.
