Appraisal of the Archeological Resources of Kelsey Creek Reservoir, Lake County, California (1948)
The River Basin Surveys, Smithsonian Institution examined the area to be inundated by Kelsey Creek Reservoir in Lake County, California for archaeological resources. Clarence E. Smith carried out the field work in the fall of 1947. Although the area is small, no less than 13 sites were found within it. Four of the sites were habitation sites, as indicated by the presence of middens. The other 9 sites were likely "workshop" sites.

This report describes the archaeological survey that the River Basin Surveys, Smithsonian Institution made during October and November of 1947. Clarence E. In December 2008, Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd. (ACS) re-visited 16 sites in Lake Regional Park to assess their condition. ACS archaeologists documented the sites and evaluated their current state of preservation. This project contains photo documentation of the assessment work. The site cards were updated, but no report was produced.

Archaeological Excavations at the Arivaca Wash Cemetery, AZ DD:7:26 (ASM), Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge (1995)
Erosion along a wash running into Arivaca Creek resulted in the exposure of skeletal remains from a prehistoric cemetery. Under contract to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Desert Archaeology conducted emergency excavations in November of 1994 to rescue those remains that had partially fallen into the wash.
