In the 2017 survey of the old churchyard of Tyrnävä parish ground penetrating radar and magnetometer were utilized to find the foundations of a church that stood on the site from 1664 until arson in 1865. The parish is situated on the coastal region of Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland and its history dates back to the 17th century. The old parish of Tyrnävä in coastal Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland, was in use from the 1640s until the 1890s. Two churches have been located on the site and the latest was burned down in arson in 1865. Several old grave memorials, mostly dating to the 19th century, are still present on the site.
