Smokes Creek (R. Haas)
Part of: Iroquoian Ceramic Data
R. Haas (a.k.a. Smokes Creek, Braun) is located in the town of Orchard Park, Erie Co. It is believed to date between 1600-1625 based on the glass bead assemblage. Sample = 151 vessels. Richard Gramly was in charge of a volunteer excavation on the site. All ceramics were brought together for study before being dispersed. Note that the numerical code for this site is 77, the same as the Chaumont site in Jefferson County, NY (Chaumont sample size = 89). This was an error in coding. These ceramic attributes were coded in 1993.
