Instructions for Accessing MimPIDD

Part of: Mimbres Ceramic Database

A BASIC version of MimPIDD is freely available to all interested parties. This includes some data (e.g., type of vessel and image) on all entries as well as images of those vessels housed in institutions that have granted permission. A RESEARCH version is available to researchers who have need for more information. It includes photographs of most vessels as well as more detailed provenience information. Instructions on how to request permission to access the research version are contained in the attached PDF (Ethics and Permission to Access MimPIDD). Please download and read the PDF, then follow the steps described to request access to the professional research version of the MimPIDD database. The PDF document discusses the problems associated with the antiquities trade, looted archaeological sites, and the ethical use of MimPIDD information.

Requests for access to the Research version of MimPIDD are reviewed by the MimPIDD board. Current members of the board include - Michelle Hegmon (Arizona State University), Marit K Munson (Trent University), Will G. Russell (Arizona Department of Transportation), Karen Gust Schollmeyer (Archaeology Southwest), Michael Searcy (Brigham Young University), and Mary Whelan (Arizona State University).
