EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL SAMPLES AND MICROCHARCOAL EXTRACTION FOR POTENTIAL RADIOCARBON DATABLE MATERIAL FROM WASATCH FAULT IN FLAT CANYON, UTAH (2014)
DOCUMENT Full-Text
The project site is located at the mouth of Flat Canyon east of Salem, Utah. Soil samples were collected from a trench opened across the Wasatch Fault. Seventeen samples were submitted to recover and identify material appropriate for radiocarbon dating at the National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. In addition, one sample was submitted to recover microcharcoal in sufficient quantity for AMS radiocarbon age determination.
