The USACE, Louisville District obtained the collection through an archaeological test excavation at the Fairfax South Site, Lake Monroe Reservoir Project in 1987. Fieldwork was performed by Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology, Indiana University (GBL) with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Reservoirs. Fieldwork consisted of hand excavation of trenches to assess the integrity of archaeological deposits and was conducted from May 21 to June 5, 1987 (Myers and Munson 1987). There is one accession number for this investigation, 6808, which is associated with site number 12MO346. All artifacts were obtained from the Fairfax South Site investigation, Indiana site 12MO346.
